Getting your artwork right before printing is the single most important step in producing a great result. UK Print Lab offers a free artwork check on every order, and we're happy to advise before you commit to anything.

What makes artwork print-ready?

Print-ready artwork for DTF transfers should meet these criteria:

• Resolution: 300 dpi or above at the intended print size
• Colour profile: RGB (not CMYK — we print in RGB)
• Background: Transparent (PNG), not white, unless you want a white background on the transfer
• Format: PNG, AI, EPS or SVG preferred; JPEG accepted for non-transparent designs
• Fine detail: Lines below 0.5mm and text below approximately 6pt may not print cleanly — we'll advise if this applies to your design

What if my file isn't print-ready?

Send it anyway. We'll assess your file and tell you exactly what needs to change. Where possible, we can prepare your artwork for you — contact us to discuss this option. We'd rather spend a few minutes fixing a file than print something that doesn't look the way you expected.

Colour matching

If accurate colour reproduction matters — brand logos, for example — provide Pantone references alongside your file. We print in RGB and cannot guarantee exact Pantone-to-screen matching, but Pantone references help us get as close as possible.
